“Still Friends” is a modern indie bop about the love that still exists for an ex-lover, now friend. This new genre exploration for Gertz is the first and not last collaboration with pop producer Paramind, who brings the dance beats to an already emotive composition bursting with bittersweet nostalgia and celebration. Gertz, whose music usually hits more acoustic in the folky-jazz pop realm explains that the breakup came out this time as a four-chord, four-on-the-floor electro-pop song.
