At the Gate is a groove-driven anthem influenced by 80's pop rock like Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins. This song developed from a time of major personal growth two years ago, though the message will always be relevant to whatever "gates" one finds themselves facing. I was seeing a life coach who presented this metaphor that I was right there “at the gate,” seemingly prepared and ready to proceed through it, but I still held back. I wrote this cheerleading song to encourage myself onward. In theme, this is also the first song that I’ve produced on my own. During the pandemic, projects like this one have been a saving grace. Being able to call up my musician friends to have them to record and send files over, and then put that all together is so cool. Thank you for listening.
